Growth Director
The Growth Director will lead MDIA’s market expansion execution by overseeing implementation, customer retention, and operational support for new markets launching Public Innovation Challenges and establishing local Public Innovation Authorities. This is a highly cross-functional leadership role that ensures MDIA’s model is delivered with excellence beyond Miami while building repeatable systems that allow MDIA to scale.
The ideal candidate is both people-oriented and process-oriented: able to build trusted relationships with local government and ecosystem partners while also creating structure, playbooks, and operational rigor across market launches. This person will own the “how” of expansion by ensuring new markets are successfully onboarded, supported through implementation, and retained through strong outcomes and stakeholder experience. Familiarity with nonprofit or startup environments is a plus.
Capital Partnerships Director
The Capital Partnerships Director is responsible for designing and executing MDIA’s national capital acquisition strategy in support of long-term sustainability and multi-market expansion. This role owns MDIA’s development strategy across earned revenue, contributed capital, and subsidy funding, and is accountable for securing, structuring, and stewarding capital aligned to MDIA’s model to underwrite early execution and unlock public investment following demonstrated outcomes. The Capital Partnerships Director will expand MDIA’s footprint nationally by cultivating and securing philanthropic, corporate, and institutional partnerships that can scale across markets.
The Capital Partnerships Director plays a critical role in building and governing MDIA’s capital infrastructure, including operating capital for the national organization, subsidy capital to launch new Public Innovation Authorities, and support for local capital aggregation to defray the costs of public pilot implementation.
The ideal candidate is a disciplined fundraiser and relationship builder who can operate strategically, communicate clearly, and execute with excellence through strong proposal development and stewardship. Familiarity with nonprofit or startup environments is a plus.
Market Director - Miami
The Miami Market Director is a senior leader responsible for driving MDIA’s on-the-ground strategy in Miami-Dade County through high-trust relationship stewardship, partnership development, fundraising, people development, and program strategy. The ideal candidate balances being deeply strategic with being human-centered, aiming to serve people first. They can navigate complex systems with political savvy to drive program delivery while building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with public sector leaders, philanthropic and corporate partners, anchor institutions, and ecosystem stakeholders. At the same time, they translate relationships into outcomes and revenue to advance MDIA’s mission. Internally, the Director will be entrusted with ownership of program strategy and outcomes, while empowering and developing the members of the program team to handle the execution of the Public Innovation Challenge.
This role requires consistent presence in Miami to support real-time stakeholder engagement, follow-ups, and partnership momentum. An ideal candidate will have developed a network of trusted local partners within government, nonprofit, and startup ecosystems.
Innovation Research Fellow
MDIA is seeking Innovation Research Fellows to support short-term, high-impact research projects that inform our pilot programming and broader civic innovation strategy. This part-time fellowship position is ideal for graduate students in policy, business, marketing, data science, or engineering fields looking to apply their skills to real-world, mission-driven work.
Each fellow will be assigned to one of three core research areas based on their experience and interests. These project-based tracks allow fellows to dive deep into a strategic research focus while contributing to MDIA’s broader mission.
