The Technical Pilot Associate’s role is to support the Product Pilot Team by identifying technical, operational, and regulatory/legal requirements to enable a pilot demonstration with a Miami-Dade County department. This associate will work collaboratively with critical Miami-Dade challenge stakeholders to prepare the infrastructure to enable pilot demonstration startup.   

Specifically, this Associate role includes a primary focus on data platform architecture to lead the design and implementation of secure, scalable cloud-based environments that allow third-party developers to access government-furnished data and transition early-stage software into production-ready deployments. This role requires deep technical knowledge of secure infrastructure, experience working within government networks, and familiarity with federal compliance frameworks. An ideal candidate will thrive at the intersection of public sector needs, compliance, and developer usability. Familiarity with nonprofit or startup environments is a plus.

The Miami Market Director is a senior leader responsible for driving MDIA’s on-the-ground strategy in Miami-Dade County through high-trust relationship stewardship, partnership development, fundraising, people development, and program strategy. The ideal candidate balances being deeply strategic with being human-centered, aiming to serve people first. They can navigate complex systems with political savvy to drive program delivery while building long-term, mutually beneficial relationships with public sector leaders, philanthropic and corporate partners, anchor institutions, and ecosystem stakeholders. At the same time, they translate relationships into outcomes and revenue to advance MDIA’s mission. Internally, the Director will be entrusted with ownership of program strategy and outcomes, while empowering and developing the members of the program team to handle the execution of the Public Innovation Challenge.

This role requires consistent presence in Miami to support real-time stakeholder engagement, follow-ups, and partnership momentum. An ideal candidate will have developed a network of trusted local partners within government, nonprofit, and startup ecosystems. 

MDIA is seeking Innovation Research Fellows to support short-term, high-impact research projects that inform our pilot programming and broader civic innovation strategy. This part-time fellowship position is ideal for graduate students in policy, business, marketing, data science, or engineering fields looking to apply their skills to real-world, mission-driven work.

Each fellow will be assigned to one of three core research areas based on their experience and interests. These project-based tracks allow fellows to dive deep into a strategic research focus while contributing to MDIA’s broader mission.
